But yeah, most stockings are more reinforced, or have different texture from upper thigh to waist.

STOCKINGS end at the thighs and either stay up with elastic cuffs or a garter, which is better for circulation. If they connect and go up to the waist they are PANTYHOSE or TIGHTS. If the thigh-to-waist area was reinforced, it would probably be so dark we couldn't see Hanako's panties. I asked my mother and it turns out that pantyhose with those bands DID exist, Hanako's just kicking it old school.
