Didn't realize it was an option, and since her only gal pals were a crossdresser and a blind chick they couldn't set her straight.

Affordability, lack of knowledge.

The miracles of plastic surgery are amazing, but not exactly accessible. Two options are : Using an airbrush to put on a layer of grease-based "new skin" that lasts for a very long time, OR You can get skin-colored tattoos placed under the burn to give it a less reddened appearance.

There's also a lot of products that dye the skin, but that typically dyes the skin either hazel-brown (eyelash-grower does this) or bleach-white (Michael Jackson)

Amateur! You can save tons of time and money by removing the scars with photoshop.

Another option - Get tattoos over the entire rest of the body so that all of the skin matches the color of the burn.

Better yet, just burn the rest of the body so it blends in the natural way
