I find that really bizarre, since if I recall correctly, Hanako specifically let Hisao do this, and she did so in order to prove that she wasn't as weak and fragile as he thought she was, or something like that. In short, if she hadn't been okay with this happening, I think she would have been confident enough to say so.
@42546: Right. She allowed it in order to prove herself, which is a far cry from engaging willingly because she loved and wanted him.
Not that their specific situation really fits many of our paradigm cases of rape, but - well, it's a bit of a gray area, you see. I do think Hisao could have done more to clarify their intentions first.
@42545: Some people are stuck under the mindset that anything that makes her unhappy or upset is bad and should be a crime.
Apparently even if she's the one who instigates it. It has to b somebody elses fault. So even though she was the one that wanted it and was willing, Hisao's a rapist because it wasn't for pure love and she didn't enjoy it all that much.
Of course if we went by that definition of rape, there'd be a whole lot more people getting locked up.
“Clarification: I will put my penis in your vagina and make frictions until ejaculation. I will feel much pleasure. You can cry if you want to, but not too loud.”
“O-ok-kay…”
“Now let's check if these burn scars are as satisfactory as those artificial stretches and bumps in Kenji's fleshlight that he uses in a bathroom having a false idea of being alone, shouldn't we?”
I can imagine Hanako replying “o-okay” to ANYTHING.
“Kenji, this is Hanako, a feminist I captured. Find out what she knows.”
Kenji changes his pose to hide an erection.
“Hanako, this is Kenji, he wants to play a little game with you.”
“O-okay.”
@42552: She . . . didn't instigate it, though. The reveal in that scene was an act of reciprocated trust, not "let's bone". Hisao was the one who took it that way.
Jesus. We have spoiler tags, right? It's kind of late now, but I hope no one is reading the Shimmie before playing the game.
Or ... she just wanted to reciprocate the showing of her scarring because Hisao showed her his surgery scar
Earlier in the game, she told him about the fire and death of her parents because she thought it wasn't "fair" that she knew about his heart condition and he didn't know how she got her scars
@42559: Thats a good point, but surely Hanako must've anticipated Hisao's reaction. And more the point, if she was only revealing her scarring, why'd she take off her bra? Its not like that was obscuring the fact her whole back was burned.
He didn't get her signature and initials on a notorized contract stating explicitly that they would indeed be having sexual intercourse and various sexual actions including but limited to fingering, fondling, groping, stocking removal, and permission of disposal of a used condom on her bedroom floor and occupying half her bed for the purpose of post-coital sleep
Therefore, we the jury find Hisao Hisao GUILTY of the charge of rape of Hanako Ikezawa
@42589: If watching the escapades of Private Eye and HIGNFY has taught me anything, it's that adding (allegedly) to the ends of your sentences never works. Allegedly.
I'm so glad this discussing is focused in a naked Hanako rubbing her vagina sexually instead of going off on a nonsensical tangent on a hypothetical monkey on Sesame Street or something
@43753: It makes me feel terrible for her in repeat playthroughs when she talks about how sometimes doing one's best just isn't good enough (during the game of Risk with Shizune).
Truth be told, though, given Misha's obvious eccentricities and Shizune's exacting personality, I'm not sure, even disregarding any other issues, if a 24/7 relationship would've worked out well for them anyway, even if they are best friends.
So is there something wrong with me if the first thing I noticed about this picture was not the masturbation, but the fact that her scars look like Sergeant Dygalo's?
