Without a word Hisao takes my hand and places it gently on her cheek. My hand recoils slightly before returning to her face. It’s just as soft as it’s always been. But nothing will change the fact that it feels cold and lifeless. My index finger brushes over her lip. My thumb passes over the edge of the scarring on her right cheek. It had taken Hisao to even convince her to let me touch this side of her face. I remove my hand and wipe away the tear that just ran down my own cheek
“Hey, it’s ok. This isn’t the kind of place where you have to hide it”
I sniffle ever so slightly
“Tell me Hisao, how does she look?”
He thinks for a few seconds
“Remember her 18th birthday party? That’s how she looks now”

Absent thought: While (with Lilly's supervision, at least at first) there's no way that Hanako would commit suicide on her own (unless after Hisao died after some point in the good end, maybe..?), a player given complete evil freedom as to conversation/action choices could probably drive her to it relatively easily with a few well-chosen and well-timed words.
(Granted, if I as a player had that freedom, I would probably just switch out Lilly's birth control rather than mess with the Hanako good ending.)

The available data points are however bounded. There's horribleness, and sealing/isolation, and various coping mechanisms, and human assistance or at worst ignoring. Leave her alone and/or care for her when her mental state dips below normal, and we know that she will return to normal. Under normal circumstances, she would (hopefully) not be exposed to someone cruel enough to want to provoke suicide, or cruel and apathetic enough to not think or not care about the possibility. What happens if instead of letting her isolate herself and ride through it, you dig into them and rip them open and keep going? What instead of denying her fears and comforting her, someone close to her confirms them and laughs at her (and keeps going)? If really motivated, someone could then bring fire into the equation and take more and more of her corpuscle until there were almost practically nothing left to live for, but even before reaching that point I'm skeptical of the view of her as a strong person who would not react desperately no matter what was done to her. Don't let her do that, open her wounds and keep going, and running away in a different way is a plausible escape route. Judging by the way her life is gone, I would be very surprised if she hadn't asked that question already, and equally so if she hadn't already answered it. Her parents gave up their own lives so that she could live, and she knows it. That's a pretty solid reason not to throw her life away.
