sssssssss, so this is why Hanako joined the News Paper club... to not be around Lilly and Hisao so much.

But she can`t do anything because she is too timid to confess, and before appear any chance Hisao is already with Lilly. Aaaand Hanako thinks that she wouldn`t have a chance, because Lilly is popular, very ladylike, beautyful, without to mention she is rich.

This is genuinely difficult to read. I just did the Lilly route, but Hanako is my favourite and I always kind of suspected this might have been something they could play on during Lilly's route, thankfully they didn't. But it could easily be going on.
Though as said, in Lilly's route she ends up becoming quite strong and I'm certain she will have a happy life after this.
